It was a wet week here in Hopedale, Louisiana! A week of playing a game of chess with the summer squalls! It seemed every time you get the fish biting good the rain would run you in a different direction. It was a constant game of chess, making moves to keep the customers dry and fish flying in the boat. Besides the weather the fish did corporate and we had some great catches of speckled trout and redfish come back to the dock. We have one more solid week of charters trips going out and then we will be focusing on our summer teal season.

The fishing here in Hopedale, Louisiana has been great as usual. Another great week in the books with lots of fish and happy customers coming back to the dock! Our speckled trout fishing has been off the charts and our yearly pogy run has finally showed up this week! For many that do not know this time of year the massive pogy run comes through hopedale and the giant bull reds follow! Schools of thousand upon thousands of pogys move in from the gulf into the outer bays of southeast Louisiana, massive schools of bull reds and jacks follow these pogies to feast upon. This means lots of big fish with chances of catching giant reds from the 25 to 40 lbs class! This running of the bulls as we call it, should last for the next few weeks.
As our summer season is coming to an end in the next few weeks, we will be switching gears getting our duck blinds ready for our summer blue wing teal hunts and gearing up for the fall and winter fishing. The summer season was a challenging but successful summer, but I have a feeling the winter is going to be a special one. If you would like to make a hunt or fish with us call Capt. Britt to book your trip. 985-259-1801 This week the fishing has been as hot as the weather here in South Louisiana!! The fishing this week in Hopedale, LA has been as good as it gets, I fished 6 out of the 7 days this week with limits of speckled trout on every trip except one. The weather is hot but the fish are gorging themselves the first few hours of the morning to keep up with the heat. All my groups this week wanted speckled trout so that was the primary target, but the red fishing has been just as good. We finally got a good dose of clean saltwater and a huge influx of bait fish with the big incoming tides this week, I foresee another awesome week of fishing still to come. If you would like to experience this hot action while it last call Capt. Britt to book a inshore fishing trip here in Southeast Louisiana, we have a few dates available before the end of the month.
