The fishing here in Hopedale, Louisiana has been great as usual. Another great week in the books with lots of fish and happy customers coming back to the dock! Our speckled trout fishing has been off the charts and our yearly pogy run has finally showed up this week! For many that do not know this time of year the massive pogy run comes through hopedale and the giant bull reds follow! Schools of thousand upon thousands of pogys move in from the gulf into the outer bays of southeast Louisiana, massive schools of bull reds and jacks follow these pogies to feast upon. This means lots of big fish with chances of catching giant reds from the 25 to 40 lbs class! This running of the bulls as we call it, should last for the next few weeks.
As our summer season is coming to an end in the next few weeks, we will be switching gears getting our duck blinds ready for our summer blue wing teal hunts and gearing up for the fall and winter fishing. The summer season was a challenging but successful summer, but I have a feeling the winter is going to be a special one. If you would like to make a hunt or fish with us call Capt. Britt to book your trip. 985-259-1801
