What a week in hopedale, Louisiana!! We finally got a week of calms winds and no rain and were able to put a solid week of fishing in. With big tides and some decent salinity we managed to get on a fantastic trout bite this week. Almost 600 speckled trout came back to the dock this week on just one boat! Solid 2-3 lbs fish with a couple of 4 and 5 lbs trout caught and released. I’m predicting a late summer bite this year due to the high river and fresh water intrusion we had all summer. A big push of trout finally showed up and I have a feeling they will be sticking around for some time. Hopefully my prediction is right and this action stays hot! If your looking for your next fishing adventure give us a call! We are one of the top guide services in hopedale LA with over 25 years of experience in the business! The fishing has been off the charts this week! The fishing in Hopedale has been above and beyond its norm for this time of year! Our charter fishing fleet has been on the water non stop and everyday we are catching 100's of fish! Yes I said that right 100's a day on a single charter boat! The weather has been cooperating with us and the fish are loving it!! Plenty of giant bull reds have moved in with big numbers of speckled trout too. I would normally say the fishing will get better as we move into April but it truly can't get any better than it is now! If you have always wanted to make that fishing trip of a lifetime to sportsman's paradise I would advise you to come now! Here are a few pictures from some trips this week!
Capt. Britt Ordes Hopedale, LA Inshore Fishing Charters We took a few days off away from fishing to fill some alligator tags with our clients and focus on teal season! We had great success filling all our alligator tags in short order, but the teal birds did not show up for the first few days of the season! Hopefully we can get a big push of birds this week.
While I was hunting alligators some of our guides stayed fishing and it has been hot and heavy action on redfish and a bit slower on the trout. Our trout have started the transition from the outer gulf edge into the marsh, so keeping on a consistent bite has been tough since the fish are moving so fast everyday. On a good note this has been the most shrimp and menhaden I've seen in the marsh in a very long time! I'm expecting the fall and winter fishing to be phenomenal with all the bait that has transitioned into the marsh already! If you would like to fish or hunt with one of Hopedale's most experienced guide services give Capt Britt a call and book a trip of a lifetime. |
